Book Club: Provocative, meaningful reads with heart and tea!

The most common request I get is for a book club. Part social event, part productive learning, the book club may be the perfect activity when you crave more but don't want to do much more to get it.

The Boyd Wellness Book Club is:

It doesn't get much better than this. The nominal fee keeps us focused on our commitment to ourselves and helps Jennifer continue to offer these heartful programs. If you can't afford it or would like to donate so that someone else can, please email Jennifer at Boydwellness@gmail.com

The book selections will be emailed at least 3 weeks ahead of the next meeting and attendees will contribute to the direction we take things.

Each month we will gather in person to enjoy each other's company, cozy up and discuss the themes, ask questions of each other, and advance our knowledge while having fun. Jennifer will make sure our group feels safe, productive and heartful. You get to show up, be your authentic self, and leave the worries behind.

Book Clubs are popular and rightfully so. The good ones:

  • reduce stress and increase social engagement
  • improve critical thinking
  • expose members to diverse perspectives
  • invite personal growth

Our Book Club goes a step further. At Boyd Wellness, we target books that help us shape our wellness, spirituality and connectivity to self and other. We meet to practice the fine art of community with the stewardship of a trained and proven leader. Our voices will be heard, our hearts well protected. 

Increasingly we need place where we an experiment with letting go, taking in and gifting the world with our presence. This Book Club offers us that chance.

Book 1 September 3rd Meet up 6:30pm

The September book is a classic. If you haven't read it yet you will be amazed at its impact. You'll appreciate revisiting this absolute classic and cornerstone of energy medicine practices if you've read it.

Book 2: October 1st Meet up 6:30pm

Being a person is tough. Being a woman in a Western society is that much more so. This fascinating read by a Jungian analyst provides incredible insight into the qualities and characteristics that women often suppress to blend, conform, and play by the rules. The author discusses the hidden costs of that tradeoff and uses famous fairytales, a la Jung, to illustrate the point. 

It will be hard to remain small after reading this brilliant and thoughtful book. We'll have much to discuss!
