This experience includes 4 distinct parts:
A medical clearance with Jennifer Boyd - either in-person or via telehealth where we will review whether this medication is appropriate for you. We'll review your medical history, your medications and go over any issues that may affect your journey.
A Prep session - this will take place on Zoom about a week before the journey. It is MANDATORY. We aim to keep this a tight 75 minutes so we can answer your questions and set the intentions for a successful journey day.
Journey day - We'll meet in the morning around 8:30am. You will be fasting from overnight and withholding liquids from 7am. We'll have a brief arrival ceremony and preparation and then begin the journey by 9:45am if not sooner. We'll eat lunch and gently process our experience before you are picked up by your drivers around 3pm.
Integration session - this will take place on Zoom a week later. It is not mandatory but it is highly recommended. Integration is where the neuronal magic happens. You'll want to take this brief time to re-set your intentions and create your road map to for the post-journey part of your life.
Jennifer and Jackie have certifications in psychedelic-assisted medicine in addition to their primary licensees and have individually guided many clients through private medicine journeys. This is our second group journey offering together. It is our joy to bring this wonderful medicine to the community.

Preparing for the journey is half the success of the endeavor. Here we'll discuss mindset and practical considerations like what shoes to wear and how to alert us about dietary allergies!

Ketamine specific details
Ketamine exerts its effect mainly by via the N-methyl D-aspartic acid (NMDA) receptor. As well as having local anesthetic effects, it also interacts with opioid receptors, monoamine, cholinergic, purinergic, and adrenoreceptor systems.
In addition, ketamine by suppressing the induction of nitric oxide synthase activity and protein expression by endotoxin provides an anti-inflammatory effect against infection. Whereas the hypnotic effects of ketamine are caused by a combination of immediate channel blockade of NMDA and hyperpolarization-activated cation channels.
Ketamine reduces the expression of alpha tumor necrosis factor and interleukin-6. By blocking the NMDA receptor, ketamine reduces the growth of cancer cells.
Ketamine’s post-drug effects such as an increase in synaptic connectivity cause the prolonged antidepressant effects associated with the drug."

Liability Waiver
I hereby acknowledge that I have voluntarily chosen to participate in the ketamine retreat organized by Jennifer Boyd. In consideration of being permitted to participate in this retreat, I agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. Assumption of Risks: I understand that participating in the ketamine retreat involves certain risks and hazards, including but not limited to physical injury, emotional distress, and unforeseen medical complications. I voluntarily assume all such risks and agree that Jennifer Boyd, its staff, and affiliates shall not be held liable for any injuries, damages, or losses incurred during or as a result of my participation in the retreat.
2. Medical Evaluation: I certify that I am in good physical and mental health and have disclosed any relevant medical conditions or concerns to Jennifer Boyd prior to the retreat. I understand that it is my responsibility to inform the retreat staff of any changes to my health status that may affect my participation in the retreat.
3. Acknowledgment of Responsibility: I acknowledge that the use of ketamine during the retreat may have psychoactive effects and could impact my cognitive and emotional state. I agree to take full responsibility for my actions and behavior during the retreat and understand that Jennifer Boyd shall not be liable for any actions taken by me while under the influence of ketamine.
4. Release of Liability: In consideration of being permitted to participate in the ketamine retreat, I hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Jennifer Boyd of Boyd Wellness, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from any and all claims, liabilities, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by me during the retreat.
5. Indemnification: I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Jennifer Boyd of Boyd Wellness, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from any and all liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses, including attorney fees, arising out of or related to my participation in the ketamine retreat.
6. Governing Law: This liability waiver shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Fairfield County, CT, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
I have carefully read and fully understand the terms and conditions of this liability waiver, and I voluntarily agree to be bound by its provisions.
